Ike Odoeme Foundation Hands Over Newly Built Church Building to Catholic Faithful in Dimneze

The Odoeme Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has handed over a multi-billion-naira church building to the Catholic Diocese of Okigwe, specifically Corpus Christi Catholic Parish, Dimneze, Ihitte Uboma, Imo State.

The church building was officially received by His Lordship, Rev. Dr. Solomon Amuta, Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, in the presence of the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Ejuofor Christian, and other clergy members.

Addressing the congregation, the bishop urged the worshippers to view the church as a sacred place of prayer and spiritual connection, aligning with God’s admonition to all Catholic faithful. The event was graced with joy and celebration, with High Chief and Lolo Matthew M. Odoeme, parents of the donor, and Hon. Chief and Lolo Charles Ogu, his in-laws, dancing exuberantly like the biblical King David.

In his sermon, The bishop of Okigwe Rev. Solomon noted that while Mr. Ikenna Odoeme is not the only affluent individual in the community, he distinguished himself by undertaking and completing this monumental project. He dedicated the church to God and the host of heavenly beings.

It is worth recalling that through his foundation, Ike Odoeme had previously empowered over 200 women and 40 youths in Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area with non-refundable grants of ₦100,000 for the women and interest-free loans of ₦500,000 for the youths.

The traditional ruler of the community, HRH Eze Ike Obasi I, Ezurueze II of Ezimba Autonomous Community, expressed immense joy, describing the gesture as a noble act worthy of emulation. He praised the donor’s commitment and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Mr. Odoeme.

The donor’s elder brother, Mr. Victor Chukwudi Odoeme, highlighted the impact of the project, emphasizing how his brother’s initiative had relieved the community of the financial burden of contributing towards the church building.

The Church dedication  service, was well  attended by community members, dignitaries, and the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe, was a grand celebration of faith, generosity, and community development.
