The Director General of the Imo State Consumer Protection Council, Hon. Mrs. Obioma Okafor, has been honored with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Policy and Administration. The degree was awarded by the prestigious MACOTIS Global Campus Education Group and Associates in partnership with Globalkoc Internet Universities and Polytechnics Education Services Limited, as well as the Globalkoc Missionaries’ Community Development and Empowerment Initiative. The recognition was part of the grand celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Corporate Existence and Awards for Service Ceremony.
The distinguished ceremony took place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:30 AM, at the MACOTIS Global Campus Polytechnic Premises located at Pa Joel Eke's Avenue, Area "B", No. 3, Umuakurunta, Umuanunu, Obinze, Owerri West LGA, Imo State.
Dr. (Mrs.) Obioma Okafor's dedication and interpersonal acumen have propelled her to remarkable achievements. Before assuming her current role, she successfully managed a thriving fashion business in Lagos for over 20 years, maintaining an impressive annual turnover of 12 million Naira.
Since April 2020, she has served as the Director General of the Imo State Consumer Protection Council. Additionally, she holds directorial roles at Lasberger Links West Africa Limited and serves as the Managing Director of Lutas Food Limited, Lutas Collections Nigeria Limited, and Mevisco Enterprise.
Dr. Okafor's public service journey is equally notable. She served with distinction for six years as a Legislative Aide to Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the then Senator representing Imo West Senatorial Zone and now the Executive Governor of Imo State.
As an effective communicator and seasoned public servant, Dr. Okafor exemplifies leadership and commitment to vocational activities and charitable causes. Her efforts span humanitarian and religious platforms, underscoring her passion for community service and development.
