LG Boss, Ibekwe Seeks Partnership To Enhance Growth, Security, Receives Onyoko Leaders

 


Chairman of the Ngor-Okpala local government Area, Hon.Chika Ibekwe, has expressed her administration's readiness to work assiduously to enhance development and community security through engagement and more collaboration.


Hon. Ibekwe stated this while addressing leaders of the Onyoko Ngor-Okpala supporting group during a courtesy visit at the council headquarters in Umuneke Ngor Okpala on Tuesday.



While appealing for the cooperation of all stakeholders, especially the leadership of the Onyoko group, both at home and in the diaspora, she admonished them to eschew segregation and bitterness and work in synergy to achieve the aims and objectives of the 3R administration.



According to the council boss," I enjoin you all to join forces with me to bring Ngor-Okpala to an enviable height. I also encourage us to remain supportive and loyal to the Governor, His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma.


"We admonished us to work in unity because disunity among our people was part of the reasons some communities are lagging in terms of infrastructural development "


Speaking on behalf of the Onyoko Ngor-Okpala supporting group, the delegate leader, Don. Chris Okere said the group was a socio-economic and cultural group comprising respected men and women of Ngor-Okpala, both home and diaspora.


The energetic Council Boss maintained that their common goal is to ensure that Ngor-Okpala is secured from strangers and intruders in the community.


His words," We have some requests which include hosting of Ngor-Okpala security submit involving the chairman, Royal fathers of the communities, councilors, ward leaders, member representing Ngor-Okpala, security agencies, among others to determine sustainable measures to control insecurity.


"Another request is the road rehabilitation; we would like to liaise with both state and federal governments to provide some major roads in Ngor-okpala for easy accessibility of the people of Ngor-Okpal a.Thirdly, we also seek  employment of the people of Ngor-okpala, especially our teaming youths."


He regretted that Insecurity remains one of the major problems in the community, expressing concern over the herdsman's continued destruction of the community farms.


While urging the Council Boss to look into its requests, Okere explained that the Onyoko group comprises Doctors, Engineers, professors, lawyers, etc, who are dedicated to assisting the council boss in providing social amenities and social infrastructure to the people of Ngor-Okpala.


Speaking shortly, Dr Peri Njoku, one of the delegates, noted that their visit was a mark of solidarity, support, and a sign of progress from concerned Ngor okpala sons and daughters.
