LG Boss, Ibekwe Inaugurates Ngor-Okpala Councilors, Harpes On Good Governance

 


The Chairman of the Ngor-Okpala local government Area of Imo State, Hon Chika, has inaugurated the 11 newly elected councilors of the legislative arm of the council, charging them to place the community above self-interest.


Speaking during the inauguration exercise at the council headquarters, Umuneke-Ngoron Tuesday. Hon Chika expressed delight, saying the event marks a significant day in their journey towards development and greatness.


The soft-spoken chairman charged the councilors to lead with the utmost sense of transparency, accountability, probity, and response to the needs of the people of Ngor-Okpala.


While harping on the need for the newly elected councilors to work in synergy with her to actualize the aim and objectives of the 3R mantras, she enjoined them to prioritize inclusiveness, fairness, and equity for the people.


Speaking further, she charged the elected councilors to be ambassadors of love, peace, and unity and also to work in harmony with their various constituents to ensure that they represent the people's interests with integrity and compassion.


The first female Chairman of Ngor-Okpala local government, Hon. Chika Ibekwe, appreciated the Governor of Imo state, Sen Hope Uzodimma, for promoting Gender equality in IMO state by Empowering Imo women in politics, which, according to her, has balanced the agenda gab in Imo state.


In their respective remarks, Hon  Donald Chibuike who emerged as the majority leader of the council and Levi Ekeh, who emerged as the deputy leader during the inauguration, thanked the Governor of Imo state, Sen . Hope Uzodimma, for believing in their abilities to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Ngor-Okpala.


They promised, on behalf of other councilors, to give the chairman and the Vice chairman, Hon. Kizzito Onuoha, all the necessary support for the betterment of the people of Ngor-Okpala local government.


Among the dignitaries who graced the inauguration ceremony were Hon.Bede Ekeh, His Royal Highest Eze Nwachukwu, the former sole Administrator of Ngor-Okpala, Hon Ihediuba. 


The ceremony also attracted leaders of various communities in the local government, including traditional rulers, party leaders, and council staff.
