Chika Ibekwe Assumes Office As New Chairman Of Ngor-okpala LGA

 




The Newly sworn-in Executive Chairman of Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area, Hon.Chika Ibekwe has assumed office as the first female executive chairman of the council amidst fun fare.


Chika, who was recently sworn in amongst other Local Government Chairmen in Douglas House Owerri by the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, took over from the former Sole Administrator who handed power over to her officially on Wednesday.


Speaking during the handover exercise, Hon. Chika Ibekwe expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Imo State, Sen.Hope Uzodimma, for finding her worthy of piloting the affairs of the local government.


The soft-spoken council boss Commended the people in the Council Area for voting massively for APC in the just concluded Local Government election, noting that the election reflected the will of the people.


According to her," Ngor-okpala local government area has numerous challenges, but we'll ensure that the major road that leads to the council headquarters will be made motorable and accessible for easy passage of workers to work.


Also speaking, the newly elected vice chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Kizzito Onuoha, promised to work in synergy with the newly elected chairman to ensure that Ngor Okpala communities enjoy the dividends of democracy.


Hon. Kizzito noted that he will use his wealth of experience gathered over the years as an administrator to assist Hon.Chika Ibekwe in actualizing the aim and objectives of the 3R mantra.


He urged the staffers of Ngor-Okpala LGA and the people of the local government to give the chairman all the support needed to pilot the affairs of the local government even as he appreciated them for their love and support during his Administration as their SOLAD.


Further speaking, he thanked the Governor of Imo state for finding him worthy to work as the sole Administrator.


The handover was witnessed by the director of administration and general service, the different heads of departments, the NULGE Newly elected councilors, the NULGE Chairman Ngor-ok pala chapter,  the chairman,n, and the Vice chairman's entourage.
