The Hon. Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Chief Declan Emelumba has admonished Information Officers on the need to be proactive while carrying out official duties in their various MDAs.
The Information Commissioner, who was represented by the HOD Enlightenment, Mr. Eze Paul Chima, gave the advice during the maiden Congress of the newly elected executives of the Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
He pointed out the need for the members of the NUJ to hold the Union in high esteem while advising that others will only accord the Union her due recognition and respect when the members place high value on the Chapel.

In her goodwill message, the Secretary of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Treasure Ihechi-Nwamah expressed her joy in identifying with the Chapel since after she was elected the state council secretary and urged the executives to do more in the area of publicity in other to ensure that members turn up during subsequent congresses.
She advised the new chapel leadership to think outside the box to make the chapel congresses a must-attend to all members.
In the same vein, the Imo NAWOJ Chairperson, Dr. Mrs. Dorothy Nnaji, JP, expressed optimism that the new chapel leadership would move the Chapel to an enviable height.
The Chairman of the Chapel Comrade Stanley Nnaji, while thanking all who contributed to the success of the Chapel election, promised to change the narratives to bring the Chapel back to limelight.
