Fire Ravages Lagos Manufacturing Firm, Destroys Property Worth Millions

A massive fire broke out early Friday morning, devastating a manufacturing firm in Abule Osun, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, Ojo, Lagos.

Emergency responders are currently battling to extinguish the flames at JOSIEN Complex, where the blaze began around 8:20 am.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire caused significant damage, destroying items including diapers, solar batteries, foreign charcoal, and massage seats stored in the firm's warehouse.

Despite the extensive damage, no casualties have been reported as of 11:00 am, and the cause of the fire remains unknown since the warehouse was locked when the incident occurred.

Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), stated that the situation is now under control.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, alongside LASEMA and the Nigeria Police, were on-site conducting rescue operations.

"Goods and properties worth millions of naira were damaged in the incident," Oke-Osanyitolu said.

"However, a significant quantity of goods equally worth millions of naira were salvaged by the LASEMA rescue team during the operation. Strategic, collaborative efforts were deployed to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent warehouses."

Emergency services continue to investigate the incident as efforts to secure the site and assess the full extent of the damage are ongoing.
