Arewa Concerned Citizens Forum Endorses Chief of Defence Staff’s Call for Peace

The Arewa Concerned Citizens Forum (ACCF) has endorsed the call for peace made by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa Gwabin.

The endorsement was announced in a statement released in Kaduna on Friday by ACCF’s Director of Youth Mobilization, Aminu Ibrahim Kolo, Director of Women Affairs, Hajiya Hafsat Rigachikun, Director of Logistics, Sylvester Maybe Gora, and Assistant Public Relations Officer, Enenche Moses.

The group highlighted that General Gwabin's call for peace, particularly in response to planned nationwide protests, aligns with their own concerns about potential unrest.

They emphasized the importance of supporting a system that works and warned against the dangers of protests being exploited by external forces and political opponents.

"General Gwabin’s wise words of caution and call for a collective effort to support a system that works resonate deeply with our organization’s values and mission.

We share General Gwabin’s concern about the potential consequences of protest, which could lead to trouble and crisis," the statement read.

The ACCF praised General Gwabin’s appeal to Nigerian youths to reject protests and focus on constructive engagement to address the country’s challenges. They urged Nigerians to heed his advice and work together for the nation’s progress.

“We believe that Nigerians should work together to find solutions, rather than resorting to protest, which can be manipulated by external forces and political opponents seeking to undermine the nation’s progress,” the statement continued.

The ACCF reiterated their commitment to peace and collective effort, standing firmly behind General Gwabin’s message and urging all citizens to support this call for unity and stability.
