Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, on Tuesday said the peace resolutions by President Bola Tinubu is against Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State.
Sani said the peace accord will remove the knife from Fubara’s neck and set it behind his back.
IMONEWS reports that Fubara and Wike have been at each other’s necks over the control of Rivers State’s political structure and finances.
The rift had led to lawmakers in the state Assembly defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and some Commissioners resigning from the Fubara-led executive council.
In a bid to resolve the crisis, Tinubu brokered a peace deal between Wike and Fubara at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
During the meeting, Tinubu issued an eight-point resolution as part of the peace deal.
However, Sani stressed that the accord will only buy time for another round of battle.
Posting on X, Sani wrote: “I have now read the Rivers agreement. The accord will remove the knife from the neck of Sim and set it behind his back.
“The accord will bury the hatchets with leaves. The accord outwardly sells peace, but internally buys time for another round of war.
“However, It can be better if the dialogue is periodically assessed and improved upon.”
