It was a day of celebration, joy and merriment for the pupils, management and staff of Princess Shekinah International School, Ihiagwa , last Friday when the school celebrated its 2021/2022 Graduation Ceremony.
The colourful and fun packed event brought together teachers, parents and well-wishers to the now to be known Shekinah British International School where the achievements of pupils and efforts of the teachers during the academic year were celebrated.
The Managing Director of the school, Dr. Unegbu Obinna Smart in his opening speach said the newly graduated pupils have been equipped to go and solve societal problems.
Dr.Unegbu who expressed much joy over the success of the exercise said he strongly believe the graduating pupils would make Nigeria and their parents proud.
According to him ,"The school has packaged you well and in the next five to ten years, we want to see your achievements. My desire and dream is seeing you succeed.
"As a good ambassador of the school , am charging you today to take up good lessons and knowledge you have been impacted with to make difference in the society."
The successful entrepreneur seized the platform to announce that the school name has been changed from Princess Shekinah International School Ihiagwa to Shekinah British International School with effect from the new academic session.
The Principal of the school, Mr Christian Modebeh in his welcome address explained that Princess Shekinah International School students have performed excellently in their internal and external examinations .
He pointed out that the school commenced operation in 2018 but received her first senior class students in 2019 .
Fielding questions from journalists shortly after the event, Mrs. Uche Kennedy Ibe , the parent of the overall best Year 8 students commended the teachers and school management for the success of their pupils.
Mrs. Ibe ,who is the proprietress of White Label Schools also hinged her son's success story to his foundation at the White Label Schools.
A visible happy parent who is also the PTA Chairman of the school, Mr. Valentine Uzodimma Illomuanya said the success our children have achieved in the national and other examinations show what Princess Shekinah International School has always believed that every Nigerian child can excel if given the right opportunities, supportive teachers .
Mr Illomuanya whose daughter Valentia-Rose Ugonna Ilomuanya, won the Cambridge Assessmentn International Education Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint Statement of Achievement lauded the school management for the efforts.
