The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem has reassured his commitment to offer effective representation and work for the general good of the Imo people.
This was as he also promised to continually support the state governor, His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma in his determination to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
The Speaker gave the assurance when he received in audience delegation of the Onuimo Civil Group, who paid him a courtesy visit in Owerri, on Friday.
The group comprises civil servants from Onuimo Council Area including teachers, local governments workers, health workers, among others.
Rt. Hon. Emeziem applauded them for their invaluable contributions to the growth, development and progress of Onuimo LGA and the states at large and promised to always give adequate attention to their plights and needs.
He also solicited their collective support and prayers, insisting that no leader or government would succeed without the healthy support and cooperation of the people.
The Imo number three citizen said, "I am fully aware that my current position was made possible partly because of your fervent prayers and support. I still count on them to succeed and I promise not to let you down.
"I also want to asked for your continued support to the administration of His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma in the state. I have no doubt whatsoever that he will deliver on his promises. He needs our collective support and prayers too to succeed."
"And as far as I am here, be rest assured that I will always be there for you and will do my best to address your needs and concerns. I pray to use this my office to uplift many lives to the glory of God and for the betterment of mankind" he added.
Earlier, the leader of the group, Ugoeze Nwakaego Okafor said that the visit was to congratulate the new Imo Speaker and to pray for God's wisdom, good health, protection and blessings upon him and his family.
Also, others who spoke on the visit including Ejim Scholar (Administration Officer), Chinedu Inegbu(PRO), Henry A. J. B. Dike, Comrade Ikechukwu Okafor, described the Speaker's emergence as God's handiwork and intervention, while reaffirming their total support and loyalty.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of pictorial souvenir to the Speaker by the group, which according to them was expression of their love and appreciation to him.
