Imo Speaker meets, congratulates new IMHA Staff Welfare Association Exco

The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA), Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem has congratulated the newly elected executive of the IMHA Staff Welfare Association. 

This was as the group paid him a courtesy visit at his office, Assembly Complex, Owerri on Wednesday. 

Rt. Hon. Emeziem who attributed their emergence to their integrity and obvious leadership qualities, urged them to live up to their expectations in the overall interest and well-being of their members. 

He also assured them that he would give priority attention to their plights cum needs, adding that the House under his leadership is committed at ensuring that all staff work maximally in a friendly environment and with high spirit. 

"I want to assure you that I will give priority attention to your general welfare. I will liaise with the Clark to ensure that  all of you are adequately carried along in the programmes and activities of the House under my leadership." he said. 

Earlier, the Chairperson of the association, Mrs. Nkechi Ikechukwu said the visit was to officially congratulate the Speaker on his recent emergence as the chief lawmaker of the state as well as pledge their loyalty and support to his leadership. 

She said, "our amiable Rt. Hon. Speaker, it is God that makes a man king; that is to say that your elevation as the No. 3 citizen of Imo State is a divine project which will never fail or collapse. And we are overwhelmed with joy over your emergence. 

"Testimonies from far and wide have confirmed your magnanimity and altruism towards your fellow human beings which has given us the confidence that you will be a blessing to us, especially in this our time of need. 

"Rt. Hon. Speaker, on behalf of the management and staff of the Imo State House of Assembly, Owerri, we pray God to protect and bless you in great measures."

Among the executive members of the association who were at the visit were Onyeachusim Isaac (Secretary), Ejika Anthony (Vice Chairman), Nweke Chinyere (Treasurer), and Norah Ibekwe (Financial Secretary). 

Others were Agu Emeka (Publicity Secretary), Ngoka Grace (Assistant Secretary), Ezebuiro Nwamaka (Welfare Officer) and Ahumaraeze Chiemezie (PRO).
